Meenutused selle aasta jõulupidudest ja minu meisterdatud jõulukaardid kallitele sõpradele. Kaardid valmisid sel korral kvillimistehnikas.

Memories from this year's Christmas parties and my crafted Christmas cards for dear friends. This year I made quilled cards, which was new and interesting for me.

And now it's time to celebrite New Years Eve!

Detsembri alguses otsustasin, et teen see aasta jõulukaardid ise. Leidsin ühest vahvast paberipoest toredaid vanaaegseid pilte ja jõuluteemalist paberit ja nõnda inspiratsioon tabaski mind. Meisterdasin 3D jõulukuule ka lastega koolis ja need tulid tõeliselt ilusad välja, seega otsustasin ise ka proovida. Nüüd on kõik kaardid juba heade sõpradeni jõudnud ja meie pühade tervitused kohale viinud :) 

Käisime nädalavahetusel Paljassaare kaitsealal jalutamas, oli haruldaselt päikseline ilm aga loodus on murtud ja väsinud. Nii väga oleks vaja paksu lumekihti, et saabuks rahu ja talvine puhkus. 

Täna algas õpetajate talvepuhkus, veel mõned read tikkida ja pisut koristada ning jõulud võivad tulla.

At the beginning of December I decided to make the christmas cards myself this year. I found some nice vintage pictures and christmasy paper at a great paper shop and that's how the inspiration struck me. We also crafted 3D christmas balls with the kids at school and they turned out beautiful so I decided to give it a shot. By now all the cards have reached our great friends and so the season's greetings have been delivered :) 

We also went for a walk at the Paljassaare reserve, it was uncommonly sunny but nature is broken and tired. A thick snow would be useful for some peace of mind and winter vacation.

Today was the first day of teachers' winter holidays. Just a few more rows of embroidering and a bit of house cleaning to go and christmas can arrive.

Veetsime nädalavahetuse maal. Ilm oli selleks ideaalne,suviselt soe ja päiseline. Korjasime õunu ja pressisime nendest mahla, käisime metsas pohlal ning keetsime erinevate variatsioonisega moose ( lihtsalt pohla, pohla-õuna ja pohla-porgandi). Tõeliselt lõõgastav oli viibida kauni looduse keskel ja "muretseda" õuna ja kurgi uputuse pärast. Kogu saak sai kenasti purki ja talveks hoiule. Olgugi, et lehed kolletuvad ja õied närbuvad, metsas veel kõdunevat sügislõhna pole.  Tundub, et vananaiste suvi jätkub ka järgmisel nädalal, kus on oodata tõelisi soojakraade. Hoolimata tihedale töögraafikule jõudsin eelmine nädal meisterdasin sõbrannade beebidele katsikukaardid. Üllatused on postiga juba kohale jõudnud ning palju rõõmu toonud :)

We spent the weekend at the countryside. The weather was perfectly sunny and summery. We picked apples and made juice out of them, went to the forest to pick cowberries and cooked different jams (cowberry, cowberry-apple, cowberry-carrot). It was really relaxing to spend the weekend amid beautiful nature and take care of the flood of apples and cucumbers. The whole harvest got nicely jarred and preserved for winter. Even though the leaves are getting yellow and blossoms are withering, there is no smell of autumn decay in the forest yet. It seems like the Indian summer will continue next week, when the forecast promises really warm weather. Despite the busy work schedule I got the time to make baby shower cards for my friends' babies. The surprises have been delivered via snail mail and have already brought lots of joy :)

Hommikul tõuseb päike järjest varem, mis on väga rõõmustav. Kui kolmveerand kaheksaks koolimajja jõuan, siis õues on täiesti valge ja punased-oranzid-kollased jutid jooksevad horisondil. Mõni päev tagasi näitas veebruar siiski oma tõelist palet ja tõi kaasa 10 külmakraadi ja jäise tuule aga lund kõigest näpuotsatäis.
Sõbrapäeval kingiks saadud liiliad on nüüdseks oma õied avanud ja tuba on suvist magusmõrkjat hõngu täis. Vastlapäeval jäi liug laskmata küll aga kukleid sai küll pugitud :) Mõni nädal tagasi heegeldasin, lõikasin ja kleepisin kaks uut katsikukaarti ikka selleks, et nendega kevadel sündivaid beebisid tervitama minna :)

The sun rises earlier each morning which I am very happy about. By the time I arrive at school at quarter to eight it's bright outside and red-orange-yellow stripes glow in the horizon. Some days ago February showed it's real face and brought minus ten degrees and an icy wind, but very little snow.
The lilies I got for Valentine's Day have opened their blossoms and the room is filled with summery bittersweet aroma. Shrove Tuesday passed without sliding but we still got to eat buns :) A few weeks ago I crocheted, cut and glued two new babyshower cards to greet newborns in springtime :)

Tundub, et see aasta saamegi nautida valgeid jõule! Täna sadas maha kohev lumevaip, mis ei näitagi sulamismärke. Linn on jõuluehteis ja poodides pikad järjekorrad. Veel mõned päevad sagimist ja rahulik pühade aeg jõuabki kätte. Pildistasin üles jõulukaardid, mis valmisid ajakirja "Maret" abiga ja heegeltatud klaasiümbrised, kuhu mahuvad sisse teeküünlad. Küünlahoidjate idee leidsin ühest jõuludele pühendatud raamatust ning materjalideks kasutasin tavalist iirislõnga ning vanu klaase. Nüüd on aeg valmis seada peorõivad ja küüned jõulupunaseks lakkida.  Häid pühi kõigile!!!

Seems like it's gonna be white christmas afterall! Today a fluffy carpet of snow fell on the ground and it doesn't seem to melt. The city is covered in christmas jewelry and there are long queues in the stores. A few more fussy days before the silent holidays. I took pictures of christmas cards which were crafted with a little help from "Maret" magazine. I also made crocheted covers for glasses where small candles fit in. I used regular iris thread and some old glasses. I found the idea for it from a book dedicated to christmas. Now it's time to get ready party clothes and put on some red nail polish. Merry Christmas everyone!

Kuigi suvi kestab veel on ilm muutunud üpris jahedaks ja vihmaseks. Õhus on tunda sügise tulekut. Puhkus on selleks korraks läbi saanud ja ee ootab töine periood. Tegin mõned õnntitluskaardid katsikuteks, sest neid toob ees ootav sügis palju :)

Although it's still summer, the weather has turned rather chilly and rainy. You can feel autumn coming in the air. Vacation is over and ahead is another work period. Made some baby shower greeting cards, cause upcoming fall should bring many newborns to our relatives and friends :)

Ja jälle on käes aasta kõige ilusam aeg, kus loodus hakkab ärkama ja end värvidega ehtima. Vahepeal on olnud  mitu tähtpäeva ja sünnipäeva, oleme vahetanud talvegarderoobi kevadise vastu ja rammusad road kergete ja vitamiinirohkete vastu. Päike ja suvised soojakraadid meelitavad rahvast tänavale, kohvikutes avatakse väliterrasse ja järjest rohkem näeb tervisejooksjaid.
Sain ootamatult suurel hulgal igasugu erinevaid käsitöömaterjale, sorteerisin neid ja nüüd näitan uhkusega suurt kasti iirisniite. Tänu Mareti aprilli numbrile valmisid lõigates ja kleepides emadepäeva kaardid, mis ootavad oma järge.

And once again the most beautiful time of the year has come! The nature is awakening and colouring up. Meanwhile there have been several celebrations and birthdays. We have exchanged our winter wardrobe to spring one, hearty meals to light and vitamin-rich. Sunshine and summery weather have brought people out on the streets, terrace are being opened and more health joggers can be seen.
I received a vast amount of different handicraft materials. I sorted them out and now I will proudly present a huge boxful of threads. Thanks to the April issue of Maret I also made cut and glue Mother's day cards.
