Oleme tunda saanud tugevat sügistormi ja ka viimastel päevadel pole tuul vaibunud. Kes teab, võib olla puhub varsti esimese lume kohale :) Üldine hall ja vihmane ilm muudab ka toad hämaraks ning keskpäevane küünalde põletamine on saanud igapäevaseks tegevuseks, et veidigi valgust tuua. Mardilaadalt soetasin endale imeilusad Muhu lilltikandis maalitud tennised, mis jäävad suve ja Laulupidu ootama ning jõhvikalõhalise küünla, et mõnusat jõuluhõngu tuppa tuua. Raekoja platsil on kuusk juba püsti ja minul mõtted aina rohkem jõuludel :)

We have experienced the strong autumn storms and even on the recent days wind has still been blowing. Who knows, maybe it will blow out the first snow. The overall gray and rainy weather brings dimness to the rooms and burning candles to make rooms even just a little bit brighter has become a daily routine. I purchased sneakers with beautiful Muhu flower embroidery painted on them from Mardilaat. They will be waiting for summer and the song festival. I also bought a cranberry scented candel to bring that christmasy feeling into our home. The christmas tree has already been set on the town hall square and my thoughts are becoming more and more christmasy.

Vaagisin kaua, mida ühele toredale uuele tuttavale sünnipäevakingiks meisterdada ja siis mõtlesin, et pole ammu märkmiku köitnud. Ja nõnda otsisingi välja erinevat paberit nii tekstuurilt kui värvilt, tüki tugevat pappi, terava noa, PVA liimi, metalljoonlaua, nõela, valget  heegelniiti, marlit ja veidi retrokangast. Õpetuse leidsin kunagi ammu internetist, ent kuna ma olen juba üsna mitu märkmiku köitnud, siis on see protsess hästi meeles. Tulemus jäi armsalt pastelne ja veidi retro, igati oma uue omaniku näoline.
Nädalavahetusel tegin kõrvitsa-ingveri suppi ja kutsusin head sõbrad mõnusat õhtut veetma. Sügises on sügavust!

After thinking for a long time about what to make for my cool new acquaintance's birthday gift I realized that I hadn't bound a notebook for a while. So I looked out different textured and colored papers, a piece of cardboard, a sharp knife, PVA glue, a metal ruler, needle, white crochet thread, gauze and some retro textile. I found the instructions from the internet a long time ago, but I am familiar with the process since I have bound quite a few notebooks before. The result was a lovely pastel shade and a bit retro, in any way like its new owner.
At the weekend I made a pumpkin and ginger soup and invited good friends over for a pleasant evening. There is deepness in dark autumn night!

Valgust on päevades tunduvalt vähem, nii hommikud kui õhtud on pimedad. Õdusa tunde loovad hämaras toas lõhnaküünal ( Creme brulee) ja lõngatokid diivninurgas. Väike vihje peagi valmivast raglaankampsunist, mille mustri loomisel kasutasin Eesti rahvuslikke motiive.
Külm ilm lubab tuua talvise menüü lauale: tummine peedisupp, praelest, ühepajatoit...mmmm. Paar päeva tagasi sadas rahet ja ilma mütsi ning kinnasteta enam välja ei lähe.
Esimesel pildil on kingitus emale ja vanaemale ning eelviimasel kiosk Palamuselt. 

There is noticeably less light at daytime - both mornings and evenings are dark. A creme brulee aroma candle and yarn skeins on the couch bring coziness to the dim living room. A little hint about the soon to be ready raglan sweater for which i used Estonian national motifs to create the pattern.
Cold weather brings a wintery menu on the table - thick beetroot soup, fried plaice, hotpot... mmmm. A couple of days ago there was a hailfall and I won't go out without a hat and gloves anymore. 
On the first picture there are presents for my mother and grandmother and on the last but one is a kiosk in Palamuse .

Kuldne sügis võtab viimast, puud jäävad järjest rohkem raagu ja temperatuur langeb. Arvan, et kaugel pole ka esimene lumi.  Parim aeg käsitöö tegemiseks! Valminud on selle aasta esimene sokipaar, seekord siis peenvillasest värviüleminekuga Raasiku lõngast suuruses 8/2, vardad nr 2. Sääre osasse kudusin peened palmikuread ja vahva on ka see, et kui üks sokk algas lilla tooniga ning lõppes beeziga, siis teine sokk algas vastupidiselt beezi tooniga ja lõppes lillaga. Sokid leiavad oma tee ühe armsa inimese kingikotti jõulude aegu.

Golden autumn is slowly fading, leaves are falling and so is the temperature. I guess the first snow is not far. It's the best time for handicraft! I finished this years first pair of socks, this time out of fine wool Raasiku yarn with a color transition, size 8/2, knitting needles no. 2. I knitted fine lines of braid to the sock leg. It's really fun that the socks started with opposite colors. These socks will find their way to gift bag for a lovely person at Christmas time.

Purpurne sügis! Kirkad toonid aiast ja rõõm äsjavalminud kampsunist. Idee leidsin Käsitöö 2007 a veebruari numbrist. Mind võlus peen üldmulje ja armsad puhvvarrukad, hing ihkas midagi tõeliselt romantilist. Lõngaks valisin sooja ja pehme alpaka villa.Olen tulemusega väga rahul ja kannan uhkusega uut iludust :)

Purple autumn! Bright shades in the garden and joy from recently completed cardigan. Found the idea from Käsitöö February 2007. I was charmed by the subtle look and the cute puff sleeves. I longed for something truly romantic. I used a warm and soft alpaca wool yarn. I am very happy with the result and proudly wear the new beauty  :)

Käes on ametlikult sügis ja seda on tunda juba toas. Otsisin välja paksud lambavillatekid, villased sokid ja soojad riided, et kuidagi sooja sisse saada - ilmselgelt kütmisega veel viivitatakse. Olen vahepeal kõvasti pohla-õuna moosi keetnud (see mul tõeline lemmik) ja usinalt kudunud. Mõni nädal tagasi käisin onutütre kolmandal sünnipäeval ja selleks puhuks heegeldasin talle veidi nukumööblit. Roosast puuvillasest lõngast diivani ja tugitooli, mille lõiked leidsin Käsitöö esimesest numbrist.

It's officially autumn and it can also be felt in the flat. I took out thick lamb wool blankets, wool socks and warm clothes to keep warm somehow - apparently the heating period has not yet started. Meanwhile I have boiled lots of cowberry-apple jam (it's my true favorite) and knitted busily. A few weeks ago I went to my cousin's third birthday party and crocheted her some doll furniture - a sofa and an armchair out of pink cotton yarn. I found the cuts from the latest number of Käsitöö.

Üks suvistest tipphetkedest oli kindlasti Läti-Leedu ringreis autoga. Väikesed värvilised majakesed ja tormine meri Nidas (Kura säärel), tore käsitööpood Riias, puidust nikerdatud loomad ja inimesed pea igas Läti linnas, õdusad telkimispaigad looduses ja öised suplused Trakai lähedal.
Suvi on vaikselt sügiseks muutunud, ilmad on küll endiselt soojad aga järjest enam kolletuvad lehed ja tihenevad vihmahood. Oleme pressinud sadades liitrites õunamahla, käinud metsas pohlal ja seenel ning keetnud moosi. Olen lõpule viinud päris mitu käsitööprojekti, mõned on veel pooleli ja mõned alles ideetasandil...
One of our highpoints this summer was Latvia-Lithuania cross-country tour by car. Little colored houses and stormy sea by Nida (Courland Spit), nice handicraft shop in Riga, wooden carved animals and people in almost every town in Latvia, cosy tenting places in nature and nighttime swimmings near Trakai.
Summer has turned to Autumn, the weather is still warm, but leaves are changing color and it's raining more often. We have pressed hundreds of liters of apple juice, picked cowberries and mushrooms in the forest and made jam. I have finished quite a few handicrafts projects, but some are still unfinished and some are still ideas...
